West Side, Best Side

This view though! #mycityisprettierthanyourcity
So, I thought I was done posting for the day, and then I took my lunch. Like, are you KIDDING me right now? First of all, I was just looking for a bench in the sun where I could eat, so I crossed Westside Highway knowing there was a park over by the water. Lo and behold, not only were there tons of benches, but a gorgeous view! And a frenchie sitting next to me. Unfortunately, clouds started rolling in and the wind picked up, so my lack of coat only made it feasible for me to sit there for 10 minutes or so, but it was a really enjoyable 10 minutes.

Well, hello there!
And then, as I walked back over the Westside Highway on the pedestrian overpass, One World Trade Center was peeking out over the top of the stairs. Seriously? Come on! This city is so beautiful it's unfair. Bringing back the hashtag #mycityisprettierthanyourcity this spring for SURE. Nothing like springitme in NY. Seriously, this is my second one here and once it hits? Fuggedaboutit!

Guys, I really, really heart my city! And now that I'm working more and can kinda afford to live here again, I am loving it even more! My work-life balance is getting back in track. It was waaaaaaay too far towards work for the first seven months I lived here, and then waaaaaay too much toward (social) life there for a while, as well, and now it feels like it's starting to even itself out. Finding time for auditions and rehearsal and seeing shows and seeing friends, but also temping and teaching a bunch. This city is at it's most fun when you aren't working so much you only have time and energy to sleep and eat on your days off, nor are you loafing around all day either spending money like a sieve or not doing anything because you have no money to spend. This middle ground seems to be working for me...

And I just got confirmation I'm gonna be working a temp job next Tues through Fri, which will help with the balance, as well. It means that I'm working both St Paddy's Day AND the day after, so I guess there goes any temptation to jump out of my "not drinking" boat... I mean, that's a good thing, right? Responsibility. Working instead of wearing green and drinking green beer. At least I won't be working in an Irish bar this year... Small favors.
