Catching the Worm

I stood here for three hours. Telling people where to check-in for the symposium last Wed. There are worse views.
Last week I was up early nearly every morning. I mean, there's the usual 6am wake up for temping, but there is also the 5am wake up for when I have to be in Midtown by 7am or teach a yoga class at 730am. So, the only day I had to sleep in was Friday. And by that point, I'd earned it.

I was at Ithaka both Monday and Tuesday and I taught my usual 830pm classes both those nights. Then, on Wednesday, I worked a finance symposium at the Grand Hyatt in Grand Central and needed to be there by 7am. Since I had originally been scheduled for rehearsal that afternoon, I only worked a halfday and was done by 11am. Being me, I scheduled a hair appointment for noon, and then rushed to yoga afterwards making it a long, but very satisfyingly busy day.

Thursday morning I subbed the 730am Vinyasa class, enjoyed a bagel and coffee, hit up a yoga class, and then ran errands before heading back home. Sore, but again, feeling very accomplished. Which is why, when I woke up to it snowing (yes, I said snowing. In March. UGH.) on Friday, I lounged around my warm apartment and did not leave until almost 9pm (to go to a friend's bday), and was back home by 11pm.

I enjoy these busy days. They feel full, but also enjoyably New York. It's supposed to be nicer this week (upper 50-low 60s and sunny), so I am hoping to be able to get some time outside in the sunshine, but we'll see. This should be another semi-busy week.

I got the call to come fill in at the front desk for a fashion company around 1130 this morning, so I rushed to Midtown to work a half-day and just got the confirmation that I will be here tomorrow as well, so that's nice. You might think that I would prefer having Mondays and Tuesdays off since I have to teach yoga in the nighttime, but it's actually the opposite. Since I have to leave the apartment and teach, I'd rather be scheduled and busy that way teaching just feels like an extension to my day, not the beginning of it where I try to get my energy level up at 8pm. So, I'm happy to be busy today and tomorrow.

Wednesday I am available to temp as well, so we'll see if anything pops (and if not, Noises Off). And then Thursday I am rehearsing and Dani is coming into town, so I might get to see her! And Friday I have two auditions! And possibly more Dani hangout time.

Also, I am going to be filling in for the Stretch Therapy teacher at 830am on Saturdays starting the 19th of this month all the way through the end of June, so I am going to take her class on Saturday. I guess some of the regulars have complained that the class is too yoga-based when I sub. Whatever. I'm not gonna use weights, but I might add some more pilates-ish exercises if that seems like what they're used to. We'll see... Jai has already given me the go-ahead to teach it however I like since I'm filling in for such an extended period of time, and so last minute. I'm also picking up some Sunday Vinyasa classes later this month and next. I will be enjoying more monies in my Slope Fitness paychecks! The one I am picking up tonight will be for six classes, which will be the largest check I've ever received from them. More monies = drinking again!

Another busy week! Here we go! Making the monies. Teaching the classes. Slaying the auditions. You know, the usual .
