Changing Seasons

The NY weather report through Friday! Sunshine! Warm temps! SPRING!
After Thursday's chill and Friday's snow, imagine my surprise as I looked at the weather forecast for this week and saw highs in the 70's! I seriously cannot WAIT! It looks like we've left Winter behind and are heading full force into Spring and I could not be happier. Although Wednesday and Thursday look to be the peak of the warm front, the rest of the week, into the weekend look pretty nice, too. I will never say no to upper 60's and sunny before the beginning of Daylight Savings time (starts Sunday, in case you were wondering) or the first day of Spring (next Saturday 3/19).

Hopefully I will get the opportunity to enjoy the nice weather this week. I also love that it coincides with Dani being in town. That makes it even better!

Warmer weather means that new people are venturing out to take my Monday night yoga class, as well! I had three lovely humans to teach last night, two of which were new (to me) students! I love adjusting and working with new bodies. Plus, my pregnant friend, who has consistently been coming to my classes is now SUUUUUPER preggers, so there are all these poses that she could comfortably do even two weeks ago, that now are either impossible or too uncomfortable for her. Teaching her has been a challenge that I have really enjoyed, especially as her belly grows and she nears her due date. I mean, she's so huge that I can't imagine she has much longer to go, MAYBE a month. Maybe.

Last night after class she also gave me one of the greatest compliments. She told me that she went to a Pre-Natal yoga class on Sunday that was so boring she just kept thinking that she couldn't wait to come to my class Monday! I love hearing that. I, of course, responded by apologizing and saying, "You're pregnant! Not invalid! The class should still be challenging." When we did the Pre-Natal unit in TT I remember thinking, "Wow, this is harder than I thought it would be", so I know it doesn't have to be boring. It's just too bad that her instructor babies them (pun-intended) instead of adjusting a sequence to work for, and help strengthen and tone, their pregnant students.

Anyway, I am seriously considering getting my Pre-Natal yoga certification. I think it would be good to learn more about the specifics of teaching yoga to pregnant women. I'll look into it for sure... I was also thinking about getting certified to teach kids yoga. I know that can be fun, and that certification is usually only 1 weekend and $500 or so...  Anyways... More yoga training is always good!
