And For My Next Trick...

The ladies during the line through and the Queen hiding in her box.
Yesterday I hosted the ladies of Martyr'd Signs at my apartment for a line through of the whole show, costume parade, brief walk through of the fights, and brunch. It was really fun! The 13 of us fit quite nicely in my living rooms, and you know how much I love hosting (any excuse to show off my awesome apt, right?)! I woke up early yesterday to clean and organize and make coffee cake, and once the ladies left, I swept the entire apartment, put everything away, and crashed. It always amazes me how long it takes to clean up after having people over. Especially if there has been food involved.

At least I have lots of left over breakfast items AND, because I completely rearranged the furniture, I was able to sweep under and around parts of the apartment that hadn't seen a broom in a while. Now, the apartment is nice and clean which made yoga-ing this morning an absolute dream. Nothing gross anywhere on the floor around me. Ahhhhhh! So zen.
Why, yes, this IS a bag full of Starbucks coffee. We are now stocked for LIFE.
Today I am working at Big Brothers Big Sisters downtown again, filling in for an ill receptionist, and I have absolutely no idea how long I will be here. The office is open from 830am to 830pm, so I could, conceivably, be here the whole day. I have an email out to my temp contact asking if she has any further details, but since this is the only job I have lined up so far this week, I really wouldn't mind working a 12-hour day (really 11, since I'd definitely take two half-hour breaks).

I did get a call Monday morning about filling in somewhere last minute, but I needed to get my computer thing sorted, so I ended up bailing on that one. And then, yesterday, I was called about filling in here at Bigs, but because of rehearsal, I wasn't able to take that one either. I'd love to get a job for the rest of the week, though, so hopefully something pops for me tomorrow or Friday (or both!).

Although there are a couple EPA auditions that I might attend this week (one Friday morning and one Saturday afternoon), I'm pretty sure that this is the first week in over a month that I haven't had at least one audition scheduled! Looks like we're nearing the end of EPA season... I guess that's a good thing, but it seems more than likely that I won't be working on a show this summer. Bummer!

Speaking of shows, I have been offered, and accepted the role of Prospero in The Tempest! I am both nervous and enthusiastic about tackling this HUGE part AND they are PAYING ME! YEEEEEEES! First professional gig in this city! Not gonna lie, I'm crazy excited! We are probably gonna start rehearsals either end of next week or the beginning of the following, so I will be in rehearsals for both Martyr'd Signs AND Tempest at the same time. BUT since I'm mostly off-book for Martyr'd Signs already, it shouldn't be too insane working both shows.

The Tempest has two performances at the end of May, and then I'm free again, so I'll keep auditioning and keep trying to land something for the summer. Here comes the insanity!
