Broken Promise

Book, beer, backyard... What more do you need on a temperate spring night?
I haven't been doing really well with the whole not drinking thing... I drank the weekend Dani was in town, two days last weekend and then had beers again last night, but I've been responsible with it, and I feel like I deserve it! I have been working like crazy this last month! I haven't even really seen my roommates for at least a few weeks. I mean, I hear them come home or leave or maybe pass them in the hall, but I don't think all three of us have been in the same apartment for three consecutive hours (where we weren't sleeping) in over two or three months. We're all so crazy busy lately!

Until last night, that is. Last night I went to see Gabi's solo show, and since Maridee directed, obviously she was there, too. Then we grabbed drinks and grilled cheese (at Cheese Grille! I had the sandwich with goat cheese--YUM!) and talked about the show and what's next and generally just caught up. So much has happened in both our lives, so it was nice to get some face-to-face time after the show yesterday. Even though my meager 4.5 hours of sleep is making work today a little bit...harder than it should be.

It was such a quick jaunt from Midtown to the LES/Chinatown/Nolita area, that I some time to kill. So, I found a German place with a beergarden and indulged myself with two hh beers, pretzels and mustard, and Kindle time before heading to Beast. It was good choices.
