| Loving her whole look! And those skates casually slung over her shoulder. Perfection! |
I have to say that Daylight Savings + getting off work at 530pm = a much happier Gina. It's amazing how much of a difference that half-hour makes. Yes, it's tough getting to my mat a half-hour earlier (by 540am--UGH!), but that payoff at night is somehow totally worth it. Even on a day like today where my brain woke me up at 230am SURE that I'd slept through my alarm. No, it is NOT time to get up yet, brain, in fact, I've only been sleeping for four hours. In what world is that enough sleep for me? (None. The answer is none).
I mean, just yesterday I was looking through my old fashion blog noting just how tired I looked in almost every single picture. I mean, my eyes always crinkle when I smile, but back then, they were so small and puffy in every picture because my crazy Starbucks and rehearsal schedule was maybe getting me 4 hours of sleep a night... almost every night... for 3 years! I have no idea how my body lasted that long... I also kept noticing how damn TAN I was. God, I look so pasty right now... Come on, sun, I need some color! I need some warmth! I need SPRING! (Is this complaint getting a little repetitive? Annoying? Sorry(notsorry)! I love warm weather and I need my sunshine!)...
At yoga last night I was getting a little worried I was gonna have to cancel, but then Yasmine, my pregnant student, arrived and I got to do a little private pre-natal yoga class with her. She's due April 14th, so she is getting so close to the end of her pregnancy! In her last month! And she's still coming to class and rocking it out. I did have a moment yesterday where I saw her profile and thought, "Wow! She is REALLY pregnant!" I mean, even from last week, I can see a difference. She's killing it on the mat, too. Modifying and resting when she needs to, and because yesterday was the full moon, we did Moon Salutations and a sequence all about feminine energy (the moon represents the feminine, the left side of the body). At the end of class she told me that she's having a girl, and that the name they chose for her actually translates to "moon" or "lunar"! I mean, how fun is that?!
