Wishin' and Hopin'

Drag BINGO on Saturday night. I was 1 number away from winning the $75 Blackout jackpot...
Saturday started out as all my Saturday's have for the last few months by subbing the Stretch Therapy class at my gym. Those 830am Saturday classes are particularly difficult after a long week of work, and a night of performing and drinking beer. BUT! I do love that it gets me up and outta the house early in the day on a weekend. Since it was another warm day, I packed my swimsuit again and headed to Prospect Park (with a bagel and coffee in hand) for the second week in a row.

Overcast sky on Sat. I loved the look of the clouds.
Although it was warm on Saturday, it was overcast and fairly muggy, so it was actually the perfect temperature for laying out in the park (if the sun had been out it would have been too warm not to be near water), and I hungout for 3-ish hours again. I managed to forget to bring my book to this park trip, so I mostly closed my eyes, and worked on the monologue I was going to read at my audition later that evening.

Laying out. The colors look a little like that Andrew Wyeth painting
I headed home around 1pm, did my workout, showered and got ready to head to the LES first for the audition (a show for the Fringe that would pay me and wouldn't start rehearsals until after I got back from my trip back to Seattle), and then to meet Gaby on Bowery for her birthday at Drag Queen Bingo and karaoke!

Ready for the audition and then going out on Sat!
It was a pretty great night. But, again, made for another long "day off". I am pretty sure that the only thing we could have done to make it better, would have been to rent a room at the karaoke place, instead of stay in the main area to sing. More bang for our buck that way... Oh wellz! Live and learn. (I know what I'll be doing for my bday party in a few weeks...).

Sunday my plans were to head to the recycled bike sale near the Williamsburg Bridge to see if I could buy a bike. BUT with all the torrential rain (Governor's Ball was even cancelled because of all the rain), I decided to hangout indoors all day instead. I am, of course, a little bummed not to close out my weekend with a shiny new (well, used and refurbished) bike, BUT I think if I head to some other shops that sell used bikes and check those out, I'll feel a bit better about what I am buying and that it's been looked over by a real mechanic, so at least I figured that out. It'll probably be a bit more $$, but who knows? Maybe I'll find a gem.

This week includes: working 5 days, teaching tonight and tomorrow and Sat, a callback (for the show I auditioned for last Sat) on Fri night, possibly seeing a show on Wed or Thu, and a possible beach day on Sunday. Busy, busy, busy. As always, I am applying for more auditions, etc, so honestly, who knows what this week has in store.
