Shock and Awe

This was two nights ago on the 31st!

It's been a strange year for Seattle sports. The Mariners, so often the bottom of AL West, are actually killing it this year (trading back and forth with the Rangers for the top spot. Right now they are half a game down), and the Sounders, so often one of the top teams in all of MLS, are just struggling to come away with any points in games (only 16 right now halfway through the season, in 9th place in the Western conference. Out of 10 teams...). Just two nights ago, the M's scored 16-runs! SIXTEEN! Insane!

But, don't worry, last night the world seemed to right itself and the M's were routed 6-14, while the Sounders killed it with 2 late goals in DC and a clean sheet for Frei. Not saying I want the M's to suck, but the Sounders play a LOT less games than they do, and it'd be nice if they qualified for the post-season... Of course, the screams from the ECS faithful of "Fire Sigi!" have a lot more credence now that they're scraping the bottom of the barrel, so we might get rid of that albatross in the off-season (look what's happened with the M's once they replaced Zduriencik with Dipoto at the end of last year).

Anyway, not just obsessed with the Hawks, here. Something has to amuse me from February to August, and right now the M's are winning the battle! Go M's! Go Sounders!
