Life's a Beach!

Long Beach, LI, NY. First time! I mean, just LOOK AT THOSE BLUES!!!!

First beach day of the year was yesterday! With Molls! And it was AMAZING! The weather was perfect (minus the wind), the beach was fairly empty, and we got to spend just about 5 hours hanging out at Long Beach in Long Island.

But the wind. Stupid wind. Well, really, I guess it's the sand's fault. Or the wind and the sand together. The sand would have been fine on its own, and the wind would have been fine on its own, but together? Sand. Sand everywhere! In my eyes, in my mouth in the ears and nose and hair. I am used to sand getting in everything when I beach, but it was uncomfortable to lie DOWN yesterday. The sand was aggressive. Sometimes it actually hurt... So much sand.

But still! Beach! First of many! Yay!

We met at Penn Station at 1030 to catch the 1045 train to Long Beach, and after hitting the grocery store, we were on the sand before 1pm, hanging out until about 5pm when we wandered back to the LIRR rail station and grabbed the 525pm train back to the city.I got off at Jamaica and ended up waiting for about 20 more minutes until the 625pm train took me 2 stops to Nostrand and I was home before 7pm. All-in-all an amazing day! Just so happy to have beached already this year! Yay beach! Yay sun, and sand, and water! More of this! More of this!
