Sun Worship

Mala beads, Hudson river, NJ skyline. Lunchtime sun worship.
It's summer, I don't care that "technically" it's still spring because it's not June 21st yet. It feels like summer. The weather is (FINALLY) consistently acting like it's summer (we had sort of a lackluster June last year, too). So, I'm excited. There will be lunches outside, and beach days, and pool days, and park days, and sweat, and fans running 24hrs a day, and every kind of yoga practiced in my apartment will be "hot" yoga. And I am so goddamn happy I could SPIT!

I heart the summer. I heart it so hard. Even sticky, sweaty, hot, humid, stale NY summers. I love them. I love being hot everywhere I go. I love feeling like I'm walking through soup every time I step outside. I love the oppression, the heat that leaches into everything everywhere. But most of all, I love the sun. And I love having the sun and the heat stick around for a good 3-4 months. Thank you NY. Dear GOD I need this.

Cool boat. It had a pontoon attached (the white thing) and they were all rowing. Really cool.
I have been sitting outside every lunch that is not raining. Walking 5-ish minutes to get to the Hudson, and sit on a bench and read my book and soak up the vitamin D. God I love it. Sun! Sun! Sun! I plan on doing it again today. And tomorrow. And I hope I have Wednesday off, so I can go to Coney for my bday, but then back outside Thursday and Friday. And if it's nice on Saturday, I will teach and then go sit outside at Prospect Park again. I like that tradition. Especially since my coverage of the stretch therapy classes ends on the 26th, so I only have two more weekends to appreciate why I wake up early on a Saturday morning.
