| Final it's 730am and I've finished all my workouts swelfie. And a Beast Mode tribute. |
It's funny because everyone in the challenge group with me is so impressed with, not only, the fact that I am waking up so early to fit everything in, but also that I am practicing 60 minutes of yoga prior to the 21DFX workout every morning. And I don't know how to explain to them that the yoga is going to happen. I am going to get up and enjoy a morning home practice no matter what, so really it's just about waking up the extra half-hour or 40 minutes to tack on a more cardio-based workout afterwards. Once I'm out there, I might as well do both! Then I can shower once and prepare for my day!
I am so incredibly excited about having two weeks off from temping to just focus on Tempest and really nail both the lines and the show as a whole. I need it. And the show definitely needs it. Last night we worked on staging the top of Act V (with just Ariel and me), and although the physical action is simple, the psychological shifts that we both go through in less than a page of dialogue are HUGE, so it took a bit of time.
The last half-hour, Pitr and I just talked through the soliloquy and a bit on the epilogue, but most of that needed to be tabled until he could really discuss the ending of the play with Alice. They're still not sure what they want to do in that moment. And that's totally fine, I just wanted to touch base to make sure I wasn't veering onto some crazytown path that wouldn't work with the show as a whole. It's tough being the lead (littlest violin, right?). I bear a lot of responsibility for shaping this show. Prospero, more so than the leads in other Shakespeare shows, is puppet master to The Tempest's whole design, so there's a lot riding on me convincingly selling the vision.
Gonna buckle down today during lunch and start looking at the wedding. I already know I am going to be on book for the "lurker" scenes (since I've yet to be added into those) during our stumble through on Sunday, but it would be nice to be off-book for the majority of the rest of the show. We'll see. Sorta depends on how much I can get to stick in my brain in the next two days, but I have high hopes!
